OUR SERVICES

We’re very structured in the way that we like to work with our Client’s. The outline below shows our typical process, which starts with an initial meeting, where we meet you and take our first look at your garden. We’ll listen to the plans and ideas that you have for the space, and also take you through some of our past projects, to help you get an idea for how we approach our commissions.

We’ll then issue a Fee Proposal that sets out our fee charges. Typically we’ll charge on an hourly basis, mixing and matching our team to the different elements of the task to arrive at a fee that you’re comfortable with.

Before starting on any design work, we’ll meet with you and/or your Architect to discuss and work up the design brief. This will be bespoke to how you plan to use your garden, and the elements that you'd like included. The design brief acts as the corner stone to our design work, and in many ways, is the most important part of the process.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Once the garden survey has been issued, we prepare and present a full set of design drawings in response to the brief. Our design drawings feature schematics of all the major features proposed for the design, are computer drawn, and include full plan and elevation views. We usually also create a range of 3D views showing different views from within and into the garden, which are presented alongside photographic reference images to show precedent and examples of the plants and hard materials proposed.

SPECIFICATION & DETAILING

We prepare a detail package for both hard & soft landscaping to provide relevant construction detail to enable budget costing, sourcing and procurement. This will include a plant plan drawing, presented together with photographs of each species, so you can easily see what the plants look like. We normally invite three well qualified landscape contractors to provide full quotations, and produce a summary spreadsheet with analysis and recommendations.

PROJECT INSPECTION

During the construction of the garden we inspect the contractor’s work to ensure the quality of the build, scheduling regular site meetings and circulating updates so that all involved in the project are fully informed. On larger projects we organise recognised Contract documentation, and act as Contract Administrator to ensure that the Contract is being delivered according to the Contract terms. We then oversee any snagging and, once complete, issue the final certification.
